Oswestry Charity Donation Reaches £600

Oswestry petrol station has been busy, once again, raising money for a local charity. Thanks to the wonderful team and generous donations from customers, the total has reached £509.09 in just three weeks.

Speaking to the local newspaper, Linda – assistant manager at Oswestry petrol station – said, “We do a charity fundraiser here each year. We wanted to raise money for the foodbank and give back to the community.”

Over the last five years, the Oswestry team have raised over £5000 for various charities, as well as more than £9000 for Children In Need.

Kath Davies, a volunteer and trustee at the Oswestry foodbank, said that the donations are needed at this time of year. She added, “This donation will go towards our Christmas stock and it’s greatly appreciated. We’re currently busy packing 120 Christmas hampers for recipients. The need for foodbanks has noticeably increased over the past few years, but thanks to the phenomenal generosity of the community and businesses in the area, we are able to give people some food this Christmas.”

We’re so proud of the team at Oswestry and of the incredible difference they will make to people’s lives this Christmas.

EG Gateway Opens In Wolverhampton

Another incredible filling station and convenience store has been added to EG Group’s UK portfolio.

Located on the Gateway Wolverhampton site, this EG site is the final phase of the Gateway development, which is already home to a Porsche dealership and Costa drive thru.

At the time of the deal earlier this year, David Myers, our Group Property Director – UK and Europe, commented: “We are delighted to have secured this high profile location in close proximity to i54 and the Jaguar Land Rover engine facility. This is a strategic opportunity for EG Group situated to the North of the city centre and continues our rapid growth programme across our core UK market”.

Good luck to everyone who’s joined the team – welcome to EG! We’re sure you’ll do us proud.

Oswestry’s Will nominated for Community Award

We’re delighted to share the below article from the Oswestry and Border Counties Advertizer, regarding Greggs Oswestry site manager, Will.

A man dedicated to customer service is one of the latest nominees for the Advertizer Business and Community Awards.
Will Lander, 28, has been site manager at the Greggs store in the Esso station on Shrewsbury Road, Oswestry, since it opened two years ago.
The former Marches School pupil has been nominated for the customer service award, which celebrates those who show a creative and dedicated approach to their work.
Of being nominated for the award, Will said: “It’s really nice – not something I expected. It’s nice to be recognised.”
The award nomination is especially satisfying for Will as he said customer service was the most important aspect of his job. He also told of what he likes best about his role: “It’s working with the team we have at the site but our customers as well because we have a lot of regulars who come in every day,” he said.
Will was nominated by Sue Thomas, of Gobowen, who is a regular customer. “This young man is the epitome of perfect customer service. He goes out of his was to ensure every customer is treated so efficiently,” she said.
“He is a true credit to his company; he makes me smile and brightens the day.”

First Look At New Ashby Services

The new Flagstaff Island services were officially opened by Roger Bayliss – Mayor of Ashby-de-la-Zouch – on Friday 8th June, welcoming customers for the first time. Cllr Bayliss cut the ribbon, opening new services include the UK’s second ever drive-thru Gregg’s, as well as Starbucks, KFC and Esso.

Located adjacent to Junction 13 of the A42, just outside Ashby-de-la-Zouch, the new facilities offer motorists a place to rest, relax and refuel. In addition, Flagstaff Services will create around 100 new jobs once fully operational and will be staffed by local people.

Ilyas Munshi, Group Commercial Director at Euro Garages, said: “We are really proud of what we have delivered at Flagstaff Services, in what is an ideal location for roadside services. The opening weekend was a fantastic success and customers were impressed with the facilities on offer and the quality of the development.

“Our strong relationship with leading brands – including Starbucks, Esso and KFC – continues to underpin the attractiveness of Euro Garages’ roadside services offer. We were also thrilled to open the second ever Gregg’s drive-thru, which proved extremely popular with customers.”

A Red Bull Formula 1 racing car was also featured during the opening weekend, along with an Esso blimp, which customers could take photos with.

Martin O’Dwyer, Sales Account Manager at Esso, said: “Having the Red Bull Car at the opening along with the Esso blimp, and being formally opened by the Mayor of Ashby, was extremely exciting and delighted customers who were visiting for the first time.

“We’d encourage all motorists to come and try out Flagstaff services and make use of some of our exciting modern technology such as the Esso App, which lets customers pay for their fuel remotely.”

Jane Wheatley, Site Manager at Flagstaff Services, added: “The opening of Flagstaff Services marks the start of an exciting time for everyone in the Ashby team. We look forward to welcoming and serving our customers and are encouraging people to pop in and see what we have to offer.”
