Every month we’re going to bring you articles that will make us all more aware of health and safety procedures here at Euro Garages. We’ll concentrate on specific topics every month, to refresh your memory and make sure we’re all doing what we need to do to keep ourselves, our colleagues and our customers safe.
Our November Focus is Robberies!
This time of year is notorious for an increase in robberies and attempted robberies in the run up to Christmas. In fact, we’ve had two till snatches in the last week!
Here’s a reminder of the basic procedures already in place at site:
Always complete your POD drops on time.
Keep cash amounts low when single-manned.
Drop lesser amounts regularly when single-manned.
Monitor the forecourt for suspicious characters.
Be aware of potential till snatchers.
Keep the till open for as little time as possible.
Monitor the forecourt for suspicious characters or activity.
Keep the lobby doors locked at all times.
If your site has a safe area, know where it is.
Know where your Panic Alarm buttons are.
Do not leave cash out or unattended.
We’re sure you know all of that, but it’s easy to become complacent if you’ve never been targeted.
All sites should have working strike locks, so be sure to check yours. However, if yours is not working due to recent refit work, it will be addressed in due course.
Did you know?
We have a known reputation for having very little cash on site due to the POD drop procedure. Because of this, we don’t get targeted as often as we might. Make sure we maintain this!
