First and foremost, DON’T MAKE YOUR STORE AN EASY TARGET. Follow all EG policies and procedures.
In the event of a security breach, such as a burglary, remember the below:
Try to remain calm. If you have a “safe area”, retreat to it if that is possible.
Contact Police after the event, either by calling 999 or by pressing the panic alarm.
DON’T BE A HERO. Follow the instructions of the robber. Do not resist or aggravate. No quick moves and don’t stare at them. Let the robber know if there is anyone else in the building.
Under no circumstances lock the robber in the shop!
Do not follow the robber. Follow EG Escalation & stay calm
After the robber leaves, don’t open the shop to customers until advised by Police. Follow the EG escalation.
